The Danida Capacity Development Support Programme (DCDSP) supports capacity development in developing countries, primarily, but not solely, in Danida’s priority countries. We organize and/or implement capacity development support in terms of courses, studies, research, study tours, seminars, etc. in Denmark as well as in developing countries – both nationally and regionally.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs defines the framework for the capacity development activities, while Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) is in charge of all educational, administrative and practical issues.
The fellowships are funded via a central grant and via programme and projects grants. It has been resolved that when training activities (both financed by the central and by programme/project funds) are to be carried out in Denmark, DFC shall be involved to ensure the homogeneity and quality of training and living conditions in Denmark.
The central funds amounts to DKK 27 millions in 2016, and shall support training activities of a political, strategic, technical or innovative nature for participants from programmes, projects and the private sector in the Danida priority countries.

DFC’s MISSION for the capacity development programme is to ensure the quality of the training of fellows coming from developing countries and who are affiliated with Danish development assistance.
DFC’s GOALS for the capacity development programme are to give fellows the qualifications to work in their home country, ensuring relevant studies at the right price, and creating the best framework for the study period.
The fellows’ training and stay in capable hands
A successful study period in Denmark provides many valuable qualifications for work in the home country. At DFC we are specialised in supplying courses and training for Danida’s projects and programmes all over the world.
In order to ensure a uniform and high quality of all Danida-funded studies in Denmark, they must be organised in co-operation with DFC. This ensures the high international standard of courses and compliance with the Guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
