Here you find answers to some of the questions about Courses & studies that we often encounter at the Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC).
Q Where do I find the guidelines for contracts and budgeting for places of study?
Q Who can apply?
A The objective of the Danida-supported Fellowship Programme is to cover training needs of Danida funded programmes. Therefore, the Fellowship Programme is only for people who are affiliated with a Danida-financed activity.
Q Can embassy employees apply for a Danida fellowship?
A In principle no. Depending on the topic and available study places, embassy employees may, in rare cases, be offered a place on the condition that they pay the full cost of the course.
Q Can NGO employees apply for a Danida fellowship?
A Yes, as long as the activities of the NGO are financed (or partly financed) by Danida.
Q Can private consultants apply for a Danida fellowship?
A Only for the courses aimed at the private sector.
Q Can fellows attached to a Danida research project apply for a Danida fellowship?
A No. The target group of the Danida-supported Fellowship Programme is Danida funded bilateral sector programmes.
Q Being a Danida fellow on a short course in Denmark, can I apply for a Master or PhD degree?
A You can apply for a Master or PhD, if your Danida Programme is willing to pay for your Master/PhD.
Q What do you mean by ‘co-financing’?
A Co-financing means that the Danida programme pays DKK 2,500 per week for participation in courses in Denmark, and DKK 1,500 per week for participation in regional/national courses. The remaining cost of the course is covered by the central fellowship grant. The above fee includes study fee, airfare, accommodation, allowance, insurance, and social and cultural activities.
Q Do I need to enclose the certificate of proficiency in English with my application?
A You only need to be able to document your English proficiency, if you are from a country where English is not the administrative language. It is only for studies of an academic nature that we need a copy of the certificate.
