Danida Fellowship Centre’s Courses & studies are an important part of Danish support to capacity development. This is based on National Resource Development plans for the individual sectors.
Focus on programme needs
A study programme with DFC is always based on the needs of the individual programmes and projects. The Danida fellowship programme contains many different types of courses enabling DFC to design each study programme to meet individual needs.
High professional quality
DFC is synonymous with a high level of professional competencies. DFC works closely with universities, institutions of higher education and providers of private courses. We have developed a unique and solid professional expertise over many years. DFC only selects courses and study programmes, with the best professional content and educational methods. DFC only selects courses that use qualified English-speaking teachers. These teachers have working experience from developing countries and they actively include the fellows’ experiences.
The action plan – a useful tool to take home
It is essential that fellows use their newly acquired skills when returning to their work. This is why each student as an integrated part of the course works on a specific problem from his or her own job in their home country. To apply what has been taught, the fellow writes a paper presenting an action plan as to how to handle the issue. The fellow will use the action plan as a tool to resolve the problem upon returning. The course thus becomes an asset for the individual fellows – as well as for their organisations and institutions – and ultimately countries.
Fast to respond
To be able to act fast, DFC has funding that allows us to take initiatives to develop political, strategic and technically innovative training activities within a short time frame.
