The story about Priya: a question for you – for your own reflection

• Refer back to the case clinic structure (see guide below or the case clinic module of this series). Remind participants of where they are in the protocol and the specific prompt to use for framing their contributions at this stage.

• Acknowledge the director’s experience but ask him/her to reframe their contribution, starting with the prompt “Tell me more about…”, as per the stage the group is at in the case clinic protocol.

• Offer a short pause for reflection, letting participants write down thoughts before moving on to the next stage of the case clinic, reminding them that after the reflection, the group will be invited to ask Priya questions about the context of her challenge.

• Encourage note-taking or written input (e.g. a shared doc or sticky notes) to give quiet voices another way to contribute.

• Thank the director and tell them that they will get a chance to share insights from their own experience, as well as advice for Priya, later. Now the focus is on paying attention to what Priya is sharing and to familiarise ourselves with the specific context in which her challenge is presenting.
