Danish holiday Potluck
About the event
Join the DFC cafe for a traditional Danish dinner on ‘Mortens aften’ (St. Martin’s Eve).
According to legend, St. Martin hid in a goose shed to avoid being consecrated as bishop. But the geese gave him away with their cackling. Getting back at them, St. Martin declared that every 10th of November, geese should be served as the main meal.
Since around 1616 Danes have followed this tradition by cooking geese or duck for St. Martin’s Eve.
