The Ministry of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Call for 2014 applications (phase 1/prequalification) is out and it differs from previous calls as follows:
1: New terminology
North Driven Development Research Projects, previously called Larger Strategic Research Projects. Danish research institutions can apply.
South Driven Development Research Projects, previously called Pilot Research Cooperation Projects. Research institutions in Ghana, Tanzania, and Nepal can apply. Nepal is a new country selected as country for South Driven Development Research Projects.
2: New coverage
By covering both the North Driven Development Research Projects and the South Driven Development Research Projects.
3: Five months + 2½ months
Five months for preparation of phase 1 applications and 2½ months for preparation of phase 2 applications.
The objective of inviting applications for research grants related to development research is unchanged: to generate new knowledge capable of alleviating development problems and strengthening research capacity in the Danida priority countries.
Both project types (North and South driven) aim at and must be carried out as partnerships between researchers in Denmark and in Danida’s priority countries.
Deadline and application forms
At http://dfcentre.com/research/calls-for-applications/ you can find the new Call for Phase 1 Applications 2014. The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, September 25, 12 noon (Danish Time), 2013.
Application forms will be available from DFC’s website from the end of May 2013. No other calls for support to research will be issued in 2013.
The reason for moving the annual call from October to April is to allow more time for potential partners to develop a good proposal and a balanced partnership.
