Denmark’s role in Brazil’s public policy innovations
Reforming a country’s public sector is a major challenge. Through the Danish embassy in Brazil and Danida Fellowship Centre, Denmark is contributing to the Brazilian government’s extensive efforts to introduce new and innovative public policies.

Behavioural insights and nudging: A tool for public sector change
On a sunny Monday in Brasília in May 2024, 50 Danida fellows, mostly public servants from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, gathered for a three-day masterclass in Behavioural Insights and Nudging. This is a tool that can help in the implementation of public policies so that they align with human behaviour, making them more likely to be followed and succeed.

Behavioural science meets policy: Perspectives as seen by Brazil’s Director of Innovation
“In the 21st century, we’re advancing technologies such as artificial intelligence, but we still make assumptions about human behaviour that are too simplistic. We need a more nuanced approach to how people interact with governments,” says Claudia Martinelli Wehbe, Director of Innovation at Brazil’s Ministry of Management and Public Service Innovation.
