Creating spaces for mutual learning and collaboration
At Danida Fellowship Centre, once again, we can all look back on a year filled with meaningful encounters, new ideas and inspiring collaborations – a year where we sharpened our focus on creating spaces for shared learning and knowledge exchange for our many partners, old and new, in Denmark and abroad.
One of the year’s highlights was the launch of the Knowledge and innovation Programme promoting partnerships between Danish and African universities. It has been inspiring to see how quickly new academic connections have been formed, and how much energy there is for creating and sharing knowledge in partnerships.
We have also had the pleasure of delivering a wide range of tailored learning activities in support of Denmark’s strategic sector cooperation and international development cooperation programmes. Each learning activity and each participating Danida fellow has served as a reminder of why we do what we do. The curiosity, motivation and professionalism of all participants and training facilitators make it a privilege to enable learning and knowledge exchange.
Throughout the year, we have continued to manage and support research collaboration between universities in Denmark and universities in selected development partner countries, an example being our long-term contribution to institutional capacity building through the Building Stronger Universities programme. Working with dedicated researchers and university partners has once again shown us the value of partnerships built on trust, mutual respect and shared goals.
Our continued focus on strengthening networks and communication has also shaped 2025. The collaborative events organised by Danida fellows through the Danida Fellows Network have shown how powerful it can be when people connect, share experiences and help make each other’s work visible and known. Whether digital or in person, these spaces strengthen knowledge exchange and open up even more opportunities for learning, collaboration and mutual growth.
As the year comes to a close, we are pleased to share our Strategy 2026–2030, which continues to be guided by the overarching theme Knowledge in Action with learning and research as the central pillars of our activities. The new strategy reinforces our commitment to knowledge creation and sharing and opens new pathways for collaboration, connection and impact in the years ahead.
Thank you for being part of this year’s journey. Your passion, dedication, curiosity and willingness to exchange knowledge is what makes our work and the learning spaces we create together special.
