Join us at the in-person panel debate Shared learning, shared futures! at Folkemødet Bornholm 2025

Where: Verdensmålenes Plads (C30,31,32) | When: Friday 13 June, 11-11.45 am

How can cross-continental partnerships in higher education help tackle some of our big shared global challenges? And what are the long-term benefits — for both Denmark and our African partner countries — of closer university collaboration and increased student exchange?

This event is set against the backdrop of a recently launched flagship program, the Knowledge and Innovation Programme, developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Denmark. The program aims to strengthen dialogue between Denmark and Africa by establishing long-term, equitable, strategic university partnerships and by giving more young African students the opportunity to study in Denmark.

Panellists:

  • Christina Egelund, Minister for Higher Education and Science
  • Elsebeth Søndergaard Krone, State Secretary for Development Policy, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Ulla Næsby Tawiah, Director for Danida Fellowship Centre
  • Abdulkadir Rago, Kenya, Master student in Global and Development Studies at Roskilde University
  • Jes Broeng, Director & Professor, Centre for Technology Entrepreneurship, Technical University of Denmark

Moderator: Kirsten Brosbøl, Founder & CEO, 2030 Beyond
