Green Circular Economy

Purpose:

Participants will come to an understanding of environmental and industrial policies and conditions and incentive structures for green and circular change in a Danish context and their changes over the last 40 years and be able to refer this to their own countries as a basis for strategizing and governance improvements at home. Emphasis will be on gaining insight into Danish and in part EU conditions and lessons learned but to a high degree comparing these to (their own) emerging economies and global trends. 

Content:

The course cuts across business, innovation, governance and urban planning perspectives in order to highlight the core perspectives and opportunities of the green and circular economy. The course will give the participants theoretical frameworks, applicable tools as well as empirical insights and inspiring cases on the green and circular economy agendas, providing an understanding of how these have evolved and changed over time.

We will investigate the business and governance dynamics leading to green and circular behavioural and economic change, looking for the innovative leaders, important future oriented innovations and schemes that have caused a change. Special focus will be on the systemic challenges at the industry and urban level drawing in both material/waste, energy and water aspects and their interrelations. There is a heavy emphasis on learning from (good and bad) experiences/cases and exposures from mainly Denmark but also home countries.

Target group:

Mixed stakeholders at medium management level working to enhance a green and/or circular economy and -cities. Ideally, participants from each country should represent a different set of key stakeholders, e.g. different ministries and local authorities, utilities, business organizations and companies with minimum 3 representatives from each country.
