Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) co-operates closely with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs defines the framework for the fellowship activities of the Danida programmes and projects, DFC is in charge of all educational, administrative, social, cultural and practical issues in connection with a fellow’s study in Denmark and in partner countries.
In relation to development research, DFC is responsible for the practical administration of all ongoing projects, including disbursements, accounts and reports, and the practical part of the annual round of applications to the Consultative Research Committee for Development Research. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for the political and strategic aspects, including the overall contact to research centres, institutions and networks in Denmark and abroad.
DFC’s highest organ is the governing body consists of 3 members who are appointed for a three-year period, plus a DFC employee representative. You can find the constitution (in Danish) here.
