Who can apply, what is the theme and what are the procedures?

Note that Danida-funded research grants are reserved for researchers from Danish research institutions that collaborate with researchers in eligible countries for Danida research grants.

The information meeting will be live-streamed on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter (X). There will be an opportunity to ask questions via the messaging services of these channels.
We strongly encourage the participants to familiarize themselves with the grant material in advance and watch the video on how to apply.
General information about the 2024 Call
The theme of Call 2024 is “climate change action and reducing inequity”. Read more here.
Applications must be submitted by research-based institutions in Denmark with partners in selected countries that have expanded and targeted development cooperation with Denmark.
The total allocation available for development research funding in the 2024 application round is approximately DKK 200 million. The duration of research projects is up to 5 years with a maximum grant of DKK 10 million for each project.
The application round consists of two phases. In Phase 1, applicants are invited to submit a presentation of their project idea. Applicants whose projects prequalify in Phase 1 are then invited to submit a full application in Phase 2. The deadline for submission of Phase 1 (prequalification) applications is 7 February 2024 at 13:00hrs CET.
