Occupational Safety and Health
Place of study: University of Southern Denmark
Purpose: The programme enables participants to recognize risk factors to workers’ safety and health, suggest appropriate preventative measures and improvement strategies to mitigate risks, as well as gain effective communication skills as a tool for proper implementation.
Content: Through mixed-method learning approach, in which in-class teachings are combined with excursions, participants will learn the fundamentals of occupational safety and health management, gain understanding of manual work ergonomics, risk theory, and risk management. The course also provides participants with knowledge about toxicology and the biological risks of working with chemicals, and psycho-social and organizational factors. The learning objectives are related to each participant’s own context, and are stimulated through the development and implementation of an Action Plan.
Target group: The course specifically targets advanced occupational safety and health for labor inspectors.
