Offshore Wind Energy

Place of study: Technical University of Denmark

Purpose: The focus of this course is for participants to acquire fundamental knowledge about offshore wind energy technology, learn how to plan an offshore wind farm, and how to plan a new offshore wind area at a strategic level.

Content: The course will introduce participants to offshore wind technology, structures, and foundational principles. Topics include wind resource assessment and measurement, environmental impact assessment, construction and logistics, involvement of stakeholders, and operational and maintenance basics. Developing an Action Plan for deployment of offshore wind power in each participant’s own country or region, through which they are guided, is a key output.

Target group: The course targets public officials, university staff, or professionals that are involved in energy planning and especially in developing, planning and implementing the Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) in bilateral cooperation with Denmark.
