Renewable Energy Integration in Power Systems

Place of study: Technical University of Denmark

Purpose: This programme aims to provide participants with an understanding of the possibilities and limitations for renewable energy (RE) integration in the power system at both transmission and distribution level.

Content: Through lectures, excursions, and exercises, the course covers RE technologies (wind and solar), component and grid models, tools, standards, and in general the electric challenges in connection with having a considerable share of RE in the grid. The participants learn about energy planning and operation at transmission level, RE forecasting, and power markets. The latter part of the programme focus on project work, conducted under supervision of the teachers as case studies, based on individual interests.

Target group: The programme targets professionals with some years working experience in the field. Participants are expected to hold a relevant BSc degree.
