This seminar seeks to close the divide between researchers, the media and the public, fostering stronger communication and enhancing the impact of research.
The seminar consists of eight online sessions where participating researchers learn to communicate their research projects in a short, engaging and precise style, suitable for fundraising, press releases, pitching to editors and creating social media posts. Sessions are taught by professional journalists and content creators and offer hands-on guidance to make research visible, accessible, and impactful.
The seminar is designed for Danida-funded researchers who are in the second half of their research projects.
Danida Fellowship Centre’s research engagement days provide researchers with opportunities to interact, learn and collaborate at dynamic, hands-on events. The research engagement days take place annually and are designed to inspire researchers, foster knowledge exchange and strengthen connections with fellow researchers and key stakeholders.
Through workshops, presentations and interactive sessions, participating researchers share insights, explore new perspectives and discover ways to make their research more relevant and impactful. These events also provide a space to address current and sometimes challenging topics in research, enabling open discussion and reflection. By creating a space for dialogue and collaboration, the research engagement days help researchers build networks, spark innovation, and enhance the societal impact of their work. Danida Fellowship Centre provides invitations and details on training sessions and engagement seminars for researchers and PhD students in Danida-funded projects through the principal investigators of the projects.
The Mawazo Institute and Danida Fellowship Centre has in collaboration launched the More Women in Research: Learn and Lead together. It is a new initiative offering learning events, collaboration and mentorship for women researchers worldwide while also building a global community of women researchers across the Danida network and beyond. Through a series of online learning events in 2026–27, the programme will explore key topics including mentorship, research funding, research communication and the use of AI in research.
