Knowledge and Innovation Programme

The Knowledge and Innovation Programme is a funding opportunity for equitable partnerships between African and Danish universities. The objective of the programme is collaborative learning and innovation for African and Danish higher education institutions and universities in joint networks addressing shared global challenges.

The Programme and its funding possibilities

The Knowledge and Innovation Programme presents a new funding opportunity for equitable partnerships between African and Danish universities.

The programme supports partnerships between universities in Africa and Denmark, as well as student mobility from Africa to Denmark. The programme also includes support linked to EU’s Erasmus+ actions. The Erasmus related support options are accessible to universities and other Higher Education Institutions in Denmark.

The programme does not fund research activities.

Grants for partnership projects will be awarded based on annual calls for applications in 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Applications for funding are submitted via Danida Fellowship Centre’s online application portal, SurveyMonkey Apply

Danida Fellowship Centre manages the Knowledge and Innovation Programme on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
