In 2025, more than 1,300 professionals involved in Denmark’s Danida programmes, alongside early-career researchers in Danida-supported PhD projects, took part in Danida Fellowship Centre learning activities.
Together with previous fellows, the 2025 cohort forms the Danida Fellows Network, a diverse global network of networks, rich in insights, resources, and experience across sectors, professions and countries.
Recognising the importance of adaptive, relational, and network-oriented leadership, Danida Fellowship Centre views active networks as drivers of change in addressing complex global and local challenges. By connecting fellows across countries, sectors and disciplines, the network creates opportunities for continued learning, collaboration – and action long after formal courses or research projects are completed.
The results speak for themselves.
In 2025, our thematic communities on Water and Women in Research continued to evolve, with fellows strengthening leadership competencies, activating shared spaces for dialogue around the issues most relevant to them and their work, and applying insights in their organisations and national contexts.
In support of the efforts of these network, Danida Fellowship Centre hosted a free online Knowledge Talk with internationally renowned social learning theorists and consultants Etienne and Beverly Wenger-Trayner. The session explored what social learning really means, why it matters, and how participants can start creating meaningful learning spaces through intentional design and facilitation – beginning with their very next meeting. The insights from this session also inspired the development of our bite-sized and self-paced learning modules on ‘Facilitating Social Learning Spaces’, which are freely available to all and provide practical tips for others wishing to convene people to learn from and with each other. The modules can be accessed for free via our learning platform.
We also video documented the journey of Danida fellow Reagan Muyinda, who rethought leadership practices to inspire others.
