The world needs more women in research. That’s why Danida Fellowship Centre and the Mawazo Institute are launching “More Women in Research: Learn and Lead Together”. It is a new initiative offering learning events, collaboration and mentorship for women researchers worldwide.

This is your invitation to be part of something bigger that lasts beyond a single programme: a connected, international community of women academics working together to drive change, share knowledge and shape what comes next.

More Women in Research: Learn and Lead Together will build on the voices of the More Women in Research Community, the More Women in Research Manifesto and Mawazo’s 2025 Status of African Women in Research report.

Through a series of online learning events in 2026–27, the programme will explore key topics including mentorship, research funding, research communication and the use of AI in research.

The launch event will feature three keynote speakers:

Professor Sarah Ssali, deputy vice-chancellor, Makerere University, Uganda
Professor Phan Thi Van, programme director, IDH, Vietnam
Professor Elizabeth Loza-Rubio, National Institute for Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research, Mexico

Women researchers, Danida fellows, alumni and friends of Danida Fellowship Centre and the Mawazo Institute.
