“Quality education matters. For more than 30 years, the Danida Fellowship Centre – where we are today – has been managing the Danish fellowship programme. For 15 years, the Centre has managed the Danish support to development research.
The centre has built up a solid experience. Conducting short courses, master studies and PhD programmes.
Africans students have played a vital role in these programs just as the centre’s collaborations with African universities have. Numerous students have passed through the centre, obtaining new knowledge and returning home better equipped to support the further development of their own countries.
This is exactly what we aim to achieve with this programme: Graduates who can return to their home countries to implement the knowledge and competencies they have acquired thorough the programme. Contributing to the sustainable development and green transition of their home countries.

Through the Masters programme, we aim to share the Danish know-how on green transformation. We want to support the important cross-border collaboration and co-creation of solutions to our shared global challenges. Furthermore, we aim to strengthen the quality of our joint efforts in the Strategic Sector Cooperation programmes.
This is why I’m so delighted to launch this Pilot Programme. I am confident that it will further strengthen the collaboration between Africa and Denmark in our joint efforts to deal with the climate crisis.”
