Connecting knowledge, people and solutions across borders

How can international partnerships turn knowledge into action? In the September issue of our newsletter, we explore how collaboration can address shared challenges.

Kenya–Denmark: Joining forces against the climate crisis

Take part, when Marie Gad, Vice President, the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), Peter Odhengo, Coordinator of Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) at the Treasury in Kenya, and other panelists discuss how private investment can support locally driven climate adaptation. The event is organised by Danida Fellowship Centre, Globalnyt.dk and DI. It takes place 22 September, 4 – 5:30 pm CEST. Online and in-person.

Upcoming development research grants – Call 2027 – delayed

The current 2026 application round has been delayed due to the Danish parliamentary election in spring 2026 and the subsequent period of government formation.

Information on the consequences for the current application round, including the revised timeline, is available on the DFC website here.

The situation also affects the timing of the forthcoming research call. Danida Fellowship Centre expects clarification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark on key dates for the next FFU call in early 2027. Updates will be posted on the DFC website and in the newsletter.

Unlocking the power of mentorship

Great research doesn’t happen in isolation. The right mentor can open doors, spark new ideas and help turn ambition into action. But what makes a mentorship relationship work? Find out more about mentorship in the first live session of this year’s final Learn and Lead Together module on 23 September, from 3–5 pm (CEST) | 4–6 pm (EAT).

Research that travels

What can research on telemedicine in Brazil teach Denmark? The Danida-supported project “Optimizing Brazil Health Care with Telemedicine” offers one example of how international research partnerships can turn local challenges into solutions with relevance far beyond their original context.

When cross border collaboration creates solutions

From the green transition and energy to innovation and public administration, the Danish-Brazilian government-to-government cooperation is about more than exchanging experiences. It is about turning knowledge into action. Danida Fellowship Centre plays an important role in this process.
