More than just numbers. Our results and stories from 2025

We are pleased to share our annual results and to highlight selected stories from a year marked by strong collaborations and important milestones. At the same time, we have launched our new website, including a refreshed profile video that offers a renewed look at who we are and what we do.

Annual Report 2025

Danida Fellowship Centre completed its first five-year Knowledge in Action strategy in 2025. The annual report highlights progress on our strategic objectives. It focuses on strengthened capacity at individual and institutional levels, new knowledge applied in practice, and stronger networks and collaborative learning. It also accounts for our stewardship of the funds entrusted to us.

The first year of the Knowledge and Innovation Programme

Five partnership projects and five seed-funding projects were selected from the 42 applications received in the first round of the new large-scale university partnership programme, the Knowledge and Innovation Programme.

Learning together to address local and global challenges

More than 1,300 professionals involved in Denmark’s Danida programmes, as well as early career researchers in Danida-supported PhD projects, took part in Danida Fellowship Centre learning activities.

Supporting global energy expertise

Close to one fifth of all Danida Fellowship Centre learning activities focused on equipping participants from partner countries with the knowledge and tools needed to drive sustainable energy transitions.

Strong research collaborations result in greener tourism in Zanzibar

Led by the State University of Zanzibar, the Building Stronger University programme and the Danida-financed research project EnSuZa have strengthened partnerships in support of Zanzibar’s sustainable tourism ambitions.

Development research supporting women with gestational diabetes in Vietnam

Gestational diabetes is the most common pregnancy complication in Vietnam, causing high blood sugar that affects mother and baby. Medication alone is not enough. Support from family, friends, and community plays a vital role.

Supporting sustainable urban development in Africa

We entered into a three-year agreement to deliver capacity development programmes for urban planners and municipal practitioners from cities across Africa.
